• Connecting to the WiFi 330

  1. You must connect the Temperature@lert WiFi Edition directly to your computer via an Ethernet cable. On the WiFi edition, plug the cable into the PC port.  It will not work if you connect the Temperature@lert WiFi Edition to a switch or hub first. Please note this is only for initial setup.

  2. The Temperature@lert WiFi Edition has been powered on for at least 1 minute before you attempt to connect.

  3. Open up a web browser, and navigate to 10.99.99.1

• Updating the WiFi-330

  Updating the WiFi-330 is a simple process. You will need 

  1. Access to your device via a web browser

  2. The latest firmware, available from our downloads page

  To update the device firmware: 

  1. Unzip the downloaded firmware file

  2. Navigate to your device's setup page. 

  3. Click on the Help Tab. 

  4. Click on the "Upgrade Firmware" link

  5. Enter the device username and password

  6. Click "Choose File" and Select the unzipped firmware .bin file. 

  7. Click on "Upgrade Firmware Now" 

  The upgrade process takes approximately 3-5 minutes, and your device will reset twice. Do not power off the device during the flashing process, as this may render the device inoperable. 

  At the end of the process, you will see all of the lights on the device start to flash, then go solid one by one. The status light will then blink steadily.

• Can I extend the length of the sensor cable?

  For longer sensor cables, you have two options: 

  1. Contact us - custom and standard lengths are available for all sensors. 

  2. Cut and Splice - For the do it yourself-er, you can cut the sensor wire and splice on an extension. Make sure you maintain a straight through cable matching up the cut wire colors at each end. For temperature only sensors, you will need 4 conductor cable. For humidity sensors, you will need 6 conductor cable. Please note that splicing your own cables voids the warranty. The maximum tested cable length is 200 feet.

• How do I send alerts or status emails to multiple email addresses?

  Simply separate the email addresses by a comma and NO space. Example: me@mydomain.com,you@yourdomain.com

• My password does not work

  When attempting to access the local website on the Temp@lert WiFi, you are prompted for a username and password. The default username and password is: username: admin password: password If you have lost your current password, please follow the instructions on resetting the available in this knowledge base.

• How to reset the WiFi device

  February 05, 2013

  The WiFi-330 has a pin hole on the bottom of the device. Power on the device fully untill the blue backlight stops flashing and goes solid. Then, using a straightened paperclip, press down on the button that is in the pinhole. Hold the button in for approximately 5 seconds, the device should power cycle. The settings of the device will revert back to original factory settings.

• Is the Sensor Waterproof?

  The standard temperature only and combination temperature/humidity sensors are water resistant and not rated for submersion. We also offer stainless steel (316 FDA approved stainless steel) tipped water proof and chemical resistant temperature sensor probes rated for outdoor use.

  Our OIDs start with 1.3.6.1.4.1.27297.

  The traps T@ sends are:

  1.3.6.1.4.1.27297.0.1 - Return to Normal
  1.3.6.1.4.1.27297.0.2 - High Alarm
  1.3.6.1.4.1.27297.0.3 - Low Alarm
  

  1.3.6.1.4.1.27297.0.4 - Shutting Down

  The WiFi edition does not currently respond to Get requests.
