  • Tip: Don't Leave Your Vacation Home Unprotected

It's that time of the year again, summer is ending and it is time to leave the summer homes. Between the fears of an infestation of mold to the freezing of pipes, there's a plenitude of changes in your seasonal home's mini weather pattern that can significantly damage your seasonal escape.

There are a couple of different ways to protect your vacation home from traditional to new methods. Traditionally, many have year-long neighbors that can check in or a property management company that looks in from time to time. However, this requires dependence on others and their availabilities. This method of monitoring may not always be the most effective in preventing damage because of this. Contemporary methods require extensive expensive security systems or auto-dialers. Although they are fairly new innovations for monitoring your seasonal home, they may not be the most cost effective and may not function properly during a storm or outage.

This is where Temperature@lert steps in to save your summer home. By using our Cellular edition, you would be able to monitor your vacation home remotely without worrying about unnecessary costs or failures due to storms and power outages. By placing sensors near the fastest changes in temperature in your home, you will be alerted in time to prevent damage. Thousands of dollars of damage can be caused by humidity and temperature changes. By placing a Cellular Edition in your home with a temperature/humidity combination sensor, you can return to your home knowing that your home away from home is safely protected. Feel free to check-in via iPhone or Android apps or any browser (including mobile browser) at any moment to make sure that there is no issues. With multiple alerts available, you can alert yourself as well as a friend or neighbor to check-in when a threshold has been reached.

If you would like help deciding on what is the best set up for monitoring your summer home, please submit a request and we'll be able to assist you in finding the perfect solution. Don't forget to enjoy the rest of your summer!

  • Protecting motor homes, RVs and traveling pets while on the road

Lately we've been getting a lot of notice by RV and motor coach owners regarding our Cellular Edition temperature monitoring system.  In November, Temperature@lert issued a press release about a dog show handler and trainer who specializes in Doberman Pincers.  Click Here for Full Press Release .

The press release relates the experience of Valerie Stanert of Bakar Dobermans located in Las Vegas, NV. Valerie, an award winning show dog handler uses her Temperature@lert Cellular Edition to monitor the temperature in her A-Class Toy Hauler, a specially configured motor home with a compartment for her pampered pooches.  The compartment has a separate AC system to help with her drives through the desert and while parked at dog shows, especially during the summer months.  If things go wrong with the AC, Valerie knows she'll get a call and be able to respond before temperatures rise to potentially dangerous levels..  And if she wants to check if everything is working well, she uses her free Temperature@lert iPhone app to check on the coach temperature.

Recognizing the importance of protecting pets from elevated temperatures while parked in the campground and away on a day trip, more and more RV and motor home pet owners are using our Cellular Edition temperature monitoring and alerting system.  Noticing this trend, this month's Family Motor Coaching Magazine ran a product feature about our Cellular Edition device.  To read more about the benefits of cellular temperature monitoring and other interesting articles in Family Motor Coaching, click on this link.  http://www.fmcmagazine.com/motorhome-articles/columns/6587-rv-products-february-2011.
